Keith Cunningham is an international expert on screenwriting and story development, writing, consulting, and leading seminars in over 20 countries on five continents. As a film professor at Columbia College in Chicago, he began leading seminars at the AFI, the Director’s Guild and Writer’s Guild in 1984, then broadened his work to Europe and beyond. His book, The Soul of Screenwriting was published in English in 2008, and in German in 2017. A Chinese edition will be out in 2025. Keith’s many seminars on every aspect and genre of screenwriting art have been a model for a generation of writers, consultants, and development professionals. His travels have led him to specialize in cross-cultural drama. His most recent screenplay, together with Moroccan director Layla Triqui, for the film ‘Empreintes du Vent’/ ‘Carved by the Wind’, was shown at the Berlinale market 2024 and is in international distribution. Currently, he is writing a series of books that focus, in part, on media, society, and sustainability into the future.
