Fabian Gasmia, is a film producer based in Berlin, Germany. His co-production, 'Annette', opened the Cannes Film Festival in 2021. Additionally, 'Things to Come' and 'Personal Shopper' garnered Best Director awards at Cannes and Berlin respectively in 2016. His recent German-language production, 'Sun and Concrete' directed by David Wnendt, achieved commercial success with over 1,2 million admissions in Germany. His latest international co-production, 'The Promised Land' by Nikolaj Arcel, received acclaim in Venice and was Denmark's entry for the Oscars in 2024. He has worked with actors such as Mads Mikkelsen, Kristen Stewart, Lena Dunham, Marion Cotillard, Isabelle Huppert, Zack Galifianakis, Stephen Fry and others, demonstrating his ability to assemble high-profile casts. In 2015 he launched a joint-venture with Lars von Trier's Zentropa, followed by the launch of the artist-led production house Seven Elephants in 2018. As the president of the Franco-German Film Academy and a board member at Berlin's dffb film school, Fabian plays an important role in discussing the future of filmmaking. He is also frequently teaches at film schools and speaks at international conferences.
