The Atelier’s short film production
One of the most exciting features of the Atelier program is the short film production. Two producers from different language backgrounds team up to develop a script together with a screenplay student and director which then is going to be produced at the end of the training year. The films are Franco-German co-productions of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg with the film school La Fémis as well as ARTE and SWR. Half of them are produced in Ludwigsburg, the other half in Paris. After their premieres in Germany and France, all the films appear on the programs of selected festivals where they regularly earn important awards. And the general public is able to view the productions – all of the films are being broadcasted on the Franco-German TV station ARTE every year.
