It’s Liridona’s wedding day. Pregnant, the young bride finds herself married to a complete stranger. As her mother coerces her through the rituals of the ceremony, the two women find themselves being torn apart.
Liridona struggles to submit to the expectations placed on her. Her mother contends with the ambivalence of wanting to see her daughter happy and her social obligations to raise a respectable child in the eyes of the community.
