Carlo Märzke was born in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. In 2008, he took up his bachelor studies of Applied Media Science at the Ilmenau University of Technology and finished with the publication of his thesis “Filmproduction 2.0 - A quality research on the applicability of crowdfunding & crowdsourcing in the production process of cinematic products”. He produced his debut film 16:30 in cooperation with ilmpressions filmproduktion in Ilmenau. Since 2010, he regularly worked as production manager for many student short films (at HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg among others) and as production assistant for the Berlin-based Arthouse production company rohfilm GmbH, while still studying. After receiving his bachelor's degree in 2013, he carried out a distribution internship at deutschfilm/ Edition Senator and started working as a freelance producer and production manager in Berlin.
